*INDIAN MEDIA'S MISSED TRYST WITH GREAT MOMENTS_WCF 2016*
WORLD CULTURE FESTIVAL held in March 2016 in Delhi by The Art of Living Organization was a lifetime experience .Its artistic ,aesthetic excellence n magnitude were simply unprecedented as all foreign dignitaries, nation heads also testified .The mammoth stage erected on plates wd pipe_fixing without digging the ground was a technical marvel.Besides the Art feast, the program was a real platform for loving interaction between people of various cultures where the glorious visionary Indian ideal of 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam'became a lived reality. It was nothing short of a miracle when Indian and Pakistan flags flew together , Pakistan artists were so heavily cheered and doted on and all conflict_ridden n warring countries' people sang, danced and meditated together in joy and peace .The rains, the mud ,the inconvenience_nothing could deter or dampen the spirits of millions of people. It was a wonderful experience listening to the ace world leaders who while expressing their admiration for the great humanitarian work done by Art Of Living organization in their respective countries also committed themselves to work for 'One World Family' acknowledging the significant role of Indian spiritualism.WORLD CULTURE FESTIVAL WAS AN EVENT INDIA CAN BE PROUD OF.Unfortunately Indian people were denied the full intensity of such feel_good experience as the media focussed mostly on the controversies n majorly on negative reports ,not giving such an event its due at all.I returned after being a part of the programme for three days with two major lessons from lived life :
1.OUR POSITIVE /NEGATIVE APPROACH TOWARDS LIFE N MATTERS CAN MAKE HELL OF HEAVEN AND HEAVEN OF HELL.
2.ONLY HUMAN LOVE IS THE PANACEA FOR ALL OUR MALADIES.A SPIRITUAL(HUMANITARIAN,NOT RELIGIOUS) REVOLUTION IS THE ONE OUR WORLD NEEDS TODAY.
Now,long after the event, certain 'different' voices appreciating the World Culture Event are being heard, questions about negative reporting are being raised. One may or may not agree with views expressed therein, but onething is sure_WE NEED TO BE MORE OPEN OBJECTIVE N TOLERANT IN OUR APPROACH TO PEOPLE ,IDEAS N EVENTS!
